October Instagram Roundup

It’s crazy to think that it’s already November! October flew by and we’re already into my birthday month. I can’t believe we’re now 1 month away from Christmas! So here is my recap for October. I’m giving y’all outfit details, and quick links for my October Insta posts. Also, don’t forget that you can find me @lolanicoleblogs on the free 21Buttons app and that way you can shop all my outfits with a quick click without waiting for a blog post to go live.

This is one of my favorite dress styles ever! They’re so comfortable and loose. Oversized anything is all the rage right now so this is definitely on trend right now. This dress is TTS so you can get your regular size and it should fit oversized enough.

I love me some leggings. My How To Dress Up Leggings Series on the blog should give that away, lol. This outfit is one of my favs because it’s so quick and easy to put together. The leggings are some of my favorite basic jersey leggings from Old Navy and my t-shirt is A New Day brand from Target. These tees are so comfy and affordable, only $8!! My mules add a more pulled together look with ease and are also from Target.

I love layering necklaces and this one from Mystic Rose Jewelry is perfect for that. It already has a layering element so you can add another necklace with it for an instant layering effect. Plus both of my necklaces come in a Silver or Gold option. You can use my code LOLA10 for 10% off your order at Mystic Rose.

I received this box from Influenster and Joah Beauty and I’m loving the makeup. I especially love the lipstick. It’s a matte formula and the color is the perfect neutral everyday nude color. The shadows are so smooth and buttery and I’m loving the eyebrow pencil. I would definitely check them out. They are available exclusively at your local CVS stores.

I love camo, it’s one of my favorite prints. I’ve had these cargo pants for so long I have no idea where they’re from now, lol. I will link a few similar options. My top is one of my favorite basic tees from the A New Day brand available at Target. My slides are mens nike slides, I wear a size 8 in mens because it’s a size 9 in women’s. They run TTS but are a little tight when they’re brand new so you will have to wear them a few times to loosen them up.

I love these Fruit of the Loom sets. I seriously run to Walmart every year they’re put out. They’re so comfortable and still look stylish without breaking the bank. They’re in the men’s section (yes, I love mens clothing when I want a good oversized, comfy fit, lol.) My ASPCA Vans I purchased last Christmas so they’re no longer available but I will link some similar.

This set is so comfy. It was also surprisingly warm and feels like wearing a sweater all over your body. The sweater can be worn off one shoulder or both. The joggers have a drawstring waist and so comfy. This set is TTS.

This was just our cute little Wendy’s campaign. The kids were loving it, lol.

This top is my fall feels fav right now. The plaid patchwork detailing is so cute and just adds a cute holiday vibe to this grey slightly oversized top. I sized up to a large for a more oversized fit but the top fits TTS. My jeans are from Alloy Apparel and are some of my fav flare leg jeans and they’re in a size 7 and a 37″ inseam. They’re the tall length. They are really stretchy so you can size down one in these.

Our fun little family day at the Pumpkin Patch was a great opportunity to update some of our family photos. These tees are so cute and from one of my favorite mom shops on Instagram Mom Life Must Haves. My jeans and hubbys Shorts are from Old Navy and the kids jeans were gifts from grandma but I believe they’re all from Old Navy as well.

I love this set. I paired it with a bodysuit to show options for still being able to wear cropped sweaters when you don’t want your tummy out. This set is definitely TTS so I would have sized down one if I wanted it to be really fitting but I wanted it to be a little more loose. Also these can be worn high wasted or at the hip because of the drawstring waist.

This was the beginning of my How To Dress Up Leggings series. I wanted to show how you can go from running errands in athleisure to drinks with friends or a casual date night outfit without needing to put a whole new outfit on. Pairing a nice tunic sweater with your leggings and then ditching your slides or sneakers for some shoes with a dressier detailing will help add a more put together look to your outfit without too much fuss. I added a pop of color with my pink and rose gold shades for an added touch of fun.

T-shirt dresses are awesome. They’re so cute and comfy and can be dressed up or down. I usually like to pair mine with a nice jean jacket and some sneakers or slides. Just depends on the days to do list. My jean jacket is from Dresslink (old) but I linked some jean jacket options on the 21Buttons app under @lolanicoleblogs and these sneakers are from Shoedazzle, they have the cutest shoes and so many different options and styles.

This Day-to-Day Pocket Dress is from Modest Shopping and the best part about it is the material doesn’t wrinkle ever. So no need to break out the steamer, lol.

Pumpkin Patch fun in one of my favorite mom tees.

I spend my life in the car, lol. #momlife right? LOL

When you don’t want to wear a dress or deal with an uncomfortable outfit all night for a holiday get together or party, than some statement holiday dress pants are what you need in your wardrobe.

How To: Style Leggings for Fall

Leggings are great. They can be worn year round, they come in many different styles, patterns and fabrics now. So if you have that favorite comfortable pair of leggings but you don’t want to look like you’ve just grabbed them off the floor from the night before and ran out the door to drop the kids off to school. (yes I’m speaking from experience. No shame in my mom game, lol.) Then this post should help give you a few styled ideas to take your leggings from casual to dressed up in no time.

I wanted to style some basic leggings 3 ways since Fall is in full effect. Sweaters are all the rage and are the perfect option to put on when there’s a chill in the air. You can layer them over a top or find a sweater that’s great to throw on alone. Add some cute mules or boots, a few accessories and you’re good to go.

I’ve linked some cute sweater and legging options for every budget so that you can get to styling those leggings and show the world your style.

Mid-Rise Pixie Jacquard Ankle Pants for Women in Houndstooth
Women’s Anotoinette Woven Tassle Pointed Mules – A New Day™ Black

The holidays are around the corner and sometimes I still want to be comfortable while looking great. So sometimes dress pants are a great option to get out of wearing a dress. I love a good dress pant, especially when it has a beautiful design to it. These Gold Foil Pixie Pants from Old Navy are one of my favorite pants I bought during one of the holiday sales Old Navy had last year.

These pants are currently sold out but I paired these with a basic black bodysuit from Forever 21 and Targets Anotoinette Woven Tassle Pointed Mules. The beautiful gold design of the pants and the tassels and gold detail on the mules adds instant dressy touches to the outfit and makes it perfect for cocktails or a holiday party.

I’ve linked a few other pixie pants options since mine are currently sold out.

-Pants are TTS and have good stretch. I’m wearing a size 2 Regular.
-Sweater runs TTS. I’m wearing a size Medium.
-Mules run TTS but I’m wearing a size 10 because there were no size 9.5 left.

Sizing reference:

Do you have Holiday party plans this year? Who’s ready for all the delicious holiday food because that’s literally my favorite part, lol. Let me know in the comments.

Plaid Patchwork Top

Long Sleeve Shirt Plaid Affair

First of all I love Fall! With this top I get all the fall feels, especially in anything plaid. There is nothing I love more and I try and wear it year round honestly, lol. It’s one of my favorite prints. Thank goodness plaid is still a trend this fall too!

So when I got this adorable grey plaid patchwork top in the mail from Blooming Jelly, I couldn’t wait to shoot in it. It’s not too thick and not too thin. It can be worn with or without a jacket and has the perfect thickness for layering with a jacket or cardigan. If you aren’t sold on it yet then the UNDER $20 price tag should do the trick! ;0)

My jeans are from Alloy Apparel and are the best. Most noteworthy is that they fit so well and best of all they come in tall length too. I’m wearing a size 7 and the 37” inseam length. They are also low rise and the denim isn’t restricting and has a good amount of stretch to them. So I definitely recommend grabbing a pair because they’re under $70 and so good.

-Jeans are TTS but have a little stretch if you get a size that’s a size smaller. I’m wearing a size 7 and 37” inseam.
-Top runs TTS. I’m wearing a size Large for a more loose and oversized fit.

Sizing Reference:
I’m 5’8″. Typically wear 9-9.5 in shoes and a size 10 if they run small. M/L in tops and dresses. 6-8 in Jeans depending on make and brand.

So what are your favorite prints of the season? What print do you go for most while shopping? I’m also loving leopard and camo print. Let me know in the comments below.

How To: Dress Up Leggings

I love leggings! Athleisure is one of my favorite clothing styles and I’m so glad it’s style is still going strong. But sometimes you need to dress things up but have no time to change into a whole new outfit. So I put together an outfit styled with basic Jersey Leggings from Old Navy to show how everyday leggings can be worn out for drinks or a casual date night.

I paired these Old Navy Jersey Leggings for Women with a black long sleeve cowl neck sweater (link) and Black Women’s Karoline Backless Loafer Mules – A New Day. The sleekness of the sweater and the silver studded detail on the mules add dressier touches to the leggings and make what would normally be a very casual outfit fit for an evening out after running errands during the day.

I’ve linked a few other sweater and legging options because my sweater is currently sold out.

I’m 5’8″. Typically wear 9-9.5 in shoes and a size 10 if they run small. M/L in tops and dresses. 6-8 in Jeans depending on make and brand.

Do you love leggings? How do you style yours from day to night? Let me know in the comments.

I Love Being in my #UnderWhere

I love comfort. Anyone who knows me knows I like to dress up but what I love even more is dressing down, lol. Find me a comfortable pair of cute sweats or joggers and I’m all set. I also don’t have to spend an arm and a leg to find a cute and equally comfortable set. Which is why I will run straight to Walmart and go for the Fruit of the Loom sets. I love their zip up jackets and drawstring waist joggers. They’re in the mens section which I also love because I like for my jogger sets to fit a little loose rather than clinging to my body. The best part is they’re so affordable. You really can’t go wrong with these sets. Especially if you’ve been eyeing those cute sets in the mall for double and triple the price.

These sets are under $25 for the jacket and joggers together, they’re a great material as well. Thick enough to keep you warm and cozy but thin enough when the weather is a little warmer than expected. Walmart has really been stepping up their clothing game and these jogger sets are no exception. Run and grab some sets while you can, they come in over 4 colors but they sell out quick.

O U T F I T – D E T A I L S:
Fruit of the Loom Men’s Dual Defense EverSoft Fleece Full Zip Hooded Sweatshirt
Fruit of the Loom Men’s Dual Defense EverSoft Jogger Sweatpants
Women’s Any Day V-Neck Short Sleeve T-Shirt – A New Day™

-Sneakers can run a bit small. I’m wearing a 9 but I would have sized up to a 9.5 or 10.
-Jogger Sets run TTS. I’m wearing a size Small in the joggers and zip up hoodie.

I hope this post was helpful in finding you a cute and affordable jogger set that won’t break the bank but you still look super cute like you just left the mall. If you download the 21 Buttons app and then find me @lolanicoleblogs I posted this suit with a direct shop link and then I tagged a few other options as well.

My Top 8 Amazon Finds 2018

Hey Babes! So, I’m excited for today’s post because it involves one of my most favorite places to shop online. Amazon! I literally go to Amazon for everything and I’m obsessed with my prime membership. We’ve had prime for years now and it’s literally the best thing ever. I mean I’m sure my mailman is tired of seeing my name on packages but ya know, lol. I can get literally anything from gadgets, household items, groceries, clothing, jewelry, ect. I put together a list of things I have purchased recently that I’m loving. Some things I use on the daily and they make my life so much easier. I wanted to share the top things I have purchased that I have taken with me through the years that I still use and love so much.

My Favorite Mug Warmer

Evelots Desktop Electric Mug Warmer for Coffee-Tea-Cocoa-Soup-Scented Candles
This little gadget is a life saver for me. Whether you’re a busy mom or just busy throughout the day. If you’re a coffee drinker like me or even a tea drinker, this helps keep your mug warm so you don’t have to revisit the microwave 423234880 times like I did before I got this, lol. I can actually finish a full cup of coffee before making another one.

Plaid Patchwork Top

Blooming Jelly Womens Long Sleeve Shirt Plaid Color Block Tops Pocket Elbow Patchwork Knit Tee(Large,Grey)
I love this top. It’s perfect for fall. The plaid detailing is so cute and the material is soft. It is a bit on the thinner side but that works if you live somewhere that doesn’t really get that cold like ever and just gets a little cooler but you still wanna be fall fashion forward. It’s also not a thick bulky material so its great for layering with a jacket, vest or cardigan. It is TTS and I normally wear a medium but I got it in a Large because I wanted a more oversized fit.

iPhone Rechargeable Selfie Ring Light

Phone Selfie Light, IRuiYinGo USB Rechargeable 36 LED Ring Light with 3-Levels Brightness Portable Clip On Phone, Mini Night Selfie Fill Light (Pink)
Not having the perfect selfie lighting is such a first world problem, lol. But this inexpensive portable selfie light will help your cell phone photos that much better. It’s so helpful when you’re trying to get that perfect selfie but the lighting sucks. Whether you’re in a car, in a dark room or outside at night. This will help make your photos Instagram ready. It’s easy to use and rechargeable. It has settings so you can adjust the lighting accordingly and its way more affordable that some other selfie light options. It clips right to the top of your phone and fits in your bag.

Flexible Camera and Go Pro Tripod Stand

Action Camera Cam Sport Camcorder Mini Tripod Flexible Stand Tripod Compatible with GoPro Hero 6 5/4/3 Session Sony Garmin Virb XE SJCAM Xiaomi Yi Table Desk Tripod Travel Portable Video Tripod
This is perfect and so inexpensive. I use it when we travel and just around town when I want to vlog for my YouTube channel. I have even used it with my DSLR and it still holds it up without it falling over or being too heavy for the tripod. This is perfect if you’re just starting out with vlogging or recording videos because it is inexpensive and easy to use and travel with. It fits in literally any bag.

Ice Roller for Face and Eyes

ESARORA Stainless Steel Ice Roller for Face & Eye,Puffiness,Migraine,Pain Relief and Minor Injury,Skin Care Products (White)
I’ve been loving my Ice Roller. It’s the best thing for my tired, hot and overworked skin. Especially living in a hot state like Florida, Ice Rolling has been the best thing I could have stumbled upon for my skin care routine. I have a full post about it here and it also includes some of my current skincare products I use daily. Ice rolling helps with inflammation, makeup application prep, sunburn and so much more.

Crystal Tear Drop Clip On Earrings

Topwholesalejewel Wedding Earrings Gold Plating Crystal Oval Shape Clip On Earrings
These earrings will dress up any outfit in an instant. They’re so pretty and look expensive without actually being expensive at all. I have to wear clip on earrings because my ears are gauged and I ripped one a few years ago and keep forgetting to make an appointment to fix it, lol. So clip ons help me to still look fashionable and put together without having to worry about not having normal pierced ears. Amazon has a great selection of them as well. They’re great for people with my ear issue or those whom don’t have pierced ears or have a similar ear issues.

My Favorite Amazon Beauty Sponge

Aesthetica Cosmetics Beauty Sponge Blender – Latex Free and Vegan Makeup Sponge – For Powder, Cream or Liquid Application – One Piece
These beauty sponges are my favorite blenders I have purchased online so far. I have like 4 of them now. I have the Original Beauty Blender as well which I love but these are so affordable and work just as great. They’re really great quality and do an awesome job of blending my makeup into my skin and giving me that flawless face look. They also have different sizes so you’re able to pick which one is right for you and they’re great if you’re looking for a more affordable beauty sponge option.

Glass Multi-Function Monitor and Laptop Stand

Eutuxia [White] Tempered Glass Multi-function Universal Monitor Laptop Multimedia Stand with 2.0 USB Ports, Cup Holder & Phone Dock
I have my Mac desktop sitting on this and I love it. Its sleek design gives a nice professional appearance while also helping save space on your desk. It has 3 usb ports so you can charge your phone or anything that has a usb connector. You can also plug-in usb memory sticks, it’s just such a help, especially if you work at a desk often.

That’s it for this list of my current favs, some that I have been using for years. I love doing posts like this and helping people find good deals that also help with making everyday life easier. If you like these kinds of top choice posts let me know in the comments below and I will definitely put more together to post on the blog. I hope you loves have an amazing Monday!

September Instagram Recap

It’s October already babes! One of my most favorite holiday months. Halloween is legit my fav, lol. Anyway I’m going to be putting together so many Fall and Winter transitional outfits this month so keep an eye out for those. I’m back today to round up all of my September IG Posts (link Instagram) for y’all to make it easier to find and shop everything in one place. I know I say this every Recap but it’s important so I’ll say it again, this will help if you happen to miss when something is posted you can find it all here for the previous month. I also have continued to do more Insta try on hauls since y’all voted for more of those and I always add them in the try on highlights on my Instagram (link insta). So if you ever have questions about an outfit or something in a picture I post you can check there or just head back to my blog on the 1st Friday of every month to get a recap. As I have already said Instagram (link insta) changed the algorithm. They make your feed based on exactly what they “think” you want to see by who and what you engage with. So please remember to keep engaging with my photos (likes and comments) and watch my stories so my posts keep showing up in your feed. ;0)

In September I’ve been settling into the preset I made and I love it. You may have noticed a subtle can’t quite put your finger on it change and that was it, lol. I also have been getting the hang of planning and using my planners more as well as starting some new books I made a blog post about last month as well. There was also a pretty awesome giveaway posted on my Instagram last month so if you aren’t already following me head over to my Instagram (link) and hit that blue button so you don’t miss out on the next one coming up.

6 Ways To Be Stylish On A Budget

In honor of my very first ever guest contributor post on Allwomenstalk.com I wanted to revamp my post I made for their site 8 Ways To Be Stylish On A Budget that I wrote in 2014. It’s been 4 years since that post and let me tell you some things have really changed. Fashion has definitely taken a turn and there are so many new styles, trends and fashion rules now. For me I follow one important rule which is BE YOURSELF. I know that sounds cliche but it’s so true. If you’re walking around in an outfit you saw online or saw a celebrity wearing but you don’t feel comfortable in it, it doesn’t matter how amazing the outfit looked on the person you saw it on first it’s not going to have the same look or feeling for you. Because it’s not your style. You want to find your style first and that will help you pick pieces you can mix and match and wear again and again and more importantly own that look and feel comfortable and KNOW you look good too.

So with that said I’m rounding up and sharing my top 6 tips to being stylish on a budget and a few of these tips are actually the same as in my first article because they’re so important and are still true to revamping your style every time:

1. Know YOUR body and Find YOUR Style

You want to find bloggers, celebs, people in magazines and even stylish people on the street that have your body shape and body type to model your style after. Wearing ill fitting clothing or patterns in a way thats not flattering for your body is the quickest way to make an outfit go from stylish to a hot mess so quick. Like me for example, I’m tall (5’8”) and most of my height is in my legs (37” inseam) so bermuda shorts are a no for me. They make my body look awkward, they usually squeeze my thighs and above my knee and I’m just uncomfortable in them all day and you can tell, lol. So I steer clear of them but I find ways around that because they are so cute when worn right. I get more of a mid-rise short with 5-7″ inseams instead (Old Navy has some great options) which is like a short length bermuda. They don’t come down as long as a regular length bermuda shorts would and they aren’t as form fitting on the legs but still give you that bermuda shorts feel. I also have a bubble butt that sits high so when I get pants sometimes they fit everywhere but the waist or everywhere but the legs. I tend to shop places that accommodate for tall women (Alloy.com or Asos.com have great tall options). So with that said, if you’re more bottom heavy or have long legs make sure you’re finding shorts, pants and jeans that aren’t cutting into your legs, butt and thighs or are too baggy and making your lower half look bigger in a bad way (we all want a nice looking bum but we have to do it right, lol.) If you’re more top heavy than find clothing like dresses and tops that fit your top half both comfortably and fits your shape the right way and that is the key. You don’t want buttons looking like they’re going to pop any second or a dress that’s cutting your body in a weird way that makes you look squatty or oddly shaped. Once you find clothing that fits you that’s when you’re able to just focus on picking pieces that you can interchange and wear different ways without having to worry about if the fit is right. Also taking your body measurements helps when shopping online because you can look at the sites size chart before choosing your sizing options which usually helps with eliminating getting things in the mail and having to send them back or take them into your local store to exchange it for something that fits right.

The best thing about online shopping and even when you’re shopping in the store is that there’s always a sale going on. Especially with highly trendworthy outfits and online boutiques. Things that are hot and in right now may very well be out in the next month or so. That’s the way the fashion industry works. So when getting on trend clothes you want to save your money here because they could be in today and out tomorrow and then you’re stuck with clothing that you spent so much money on but don’t want to wear anymore because it’s not in style. Whenever you find a new boutique or a new clothing site, take some time to google if there are coupons or if any bloggers have coupon codes for that specific site available. That way the on trend pieces you’re buying aren’t such a stressful investment when they could go out of style any minute. Also look and see if the company has their own coupons or sales. Old Navy, PRETTYLITTLETHING, FashionNova and many other clothing companies always have some sort of sale or coupons available so you’re always able to save some coin when you shop so you don’t feel so bad about your recent purchases. Save your money on the more big ticket, never going out of style pieces like a Louis Vuitton Speedy or a really nice Trenchcoat or those black pumps you’ve had your eye on from Christian Louboutin that you know will just gracefully age with time. This was an awesome way for me to always update my wardrobe without breaking the bank. Especially when I was in college and a single mom, every dime counts. ;0)

3. Buy, Sell and Trade

There are so many ways now that you can change up your wardrobe sometimes without even having to spend more money. Places like Platos Closet or a Thrift Store that buys old clothes you don’t want anymore can help you clean out your closet while getting new things right away. If you can wait a little I love selling things on Ebay.com because it’s so easy and quick. Take pictures of the clothes, post them on the site with a little description of outfit and condition, set your prices or your starting bid and sit back and watch the money roll in. That takes the pressure off of taking your clothes back and forth to different stores trying to sell everything off. For more expensive items you can use Poshmark, they are great for selling those name brand items that you don’t want to just give away or sell for $1. Hey like I said before, trends come and go so you always want to find cheaper ways of getting new things while not feeling so bad about letting go of the old.

4. DIY

DIYin is all the rage these days. You saw a cute off the shoulder graphic t-shirt a celeb was wearing but don’t want to spend the $100 price tag just go to Walmart or Five Below and grab you a few cheap band tees (both sell super cute graphic tees for $5) and watch a tutorial on how to cut a regular t-shirt into an off the shoulder shirt. It took me all of 10 mins to make a few off the shoulder tees I can wear to run errands or hang out or even around the house and still look cute for a fraction of the cost. Want some cute high waisted jean shorts but don’t have the money to get brand new ones right now? Look in your closet, a friends closet or your moms and get old jeans that you or they don’t want or even take a trip to the local Goodwill or thrift store in your area and grab some mom jeans that fit you well. Cut them into shorts, add some studs, distress them, etc and you’ve just saved $100+ on some on trend high-waisted shorts while spending all of $20 or less.

5. Borrow

Your sister, friend, mom or grandma will have something you’d love to wear. Whether it’s the beautiful vintage earrings, that designer bag you’ve had your eye on but can’t afford or that LBD you’ve had your eye on. Borrowing can help save tons of money and still have you looking fabulous without having to spend a dime. The best part is you can always wear it again so it’s like you bought it yourself, as long as you make sure that’s ok with who you borrowed it from, lol.

6. Mix and Match

My final tip is one i’ve said time and time again. Take something from one season and remix it to turn it into a fall or winter item with some layering. Turn that summer dress into a fall outfit by adding tights or leggings, add a scarf, a hat or a sweater. Turn those summer favorite high-waisted shorts into a fall outfit by tucking in a long sleeve flannel shirt, layering it with a cute cardigan and adding some fall essentials. Be creative, you don’t have to buy a whole new wardrobe for each season if you can’t afford it or even if you can. Save money by being creative with what you have. It’s what really shows your style and your ability to adapt to different seasons or trends without breaking the bank or maybe not even spending any money at all.

FabFitFun Fall Box

Hi Babes! So I’ve wanted to partner with FabFitFun for the longest because their boxes always looked so cool and had the most awesome items in each box. But before I jumped the gun on that I wanted to try it out for myself first to make sure it was something I’d actually use myself and that the boxes were as good as everyone makes them out to be. I never want to share anything with you babes that I wouldn’t use myself and love.

I’m a fan of subscriptions because its like getting a little gift for yourself every month and it’s always a surprise or excitement because you’re so excited to use and try out products you love or new products you will grow to love. I’ve tried many beauty type subscription services before and I’ve loved some, disliked others and got bored with some as well. But let me just say that good first impressions are definitely important and this box killed it. I am in love with my first FabFitFun box and cannot wait to get the next seasons box because the Fall box is awesome. I wanted to share everything I got in the box with you babes and show you the things you can get in your box if you decide you want to try it out for yourself.
