Black Friday in PrettyLittleThing

Who’s ready for Black Friday?! Now don’t get me wrong, when I talk about Black Friday i’m not talking about the going to the stores part. I’m talking about the online sales. I do most of my Black Friday shopping online. It’s easier because you don’t have to get up, get dressed and fight through traffic on the roads and in the stores. The long lines, the short stock, just yuck! You can shop all your favorite stores at the click of a mouse and stay in your pjs at the same time. Who doesn’t love that?

Online Shopping Tip:

Go in the store location first and try on things that you need to make sure they fit. Like jeans, pants, bras, etc. T-Shirts I know I can get a medium or large in. Medium if it’s TTS and Large if I want a little more room or an oversized fit. But doing that will help you when shopping online. If there is no store nearby or at all for the boutique you’re shopping at online, then take your body measurements and look on their size chart to match with a size. That will more than likely give you the right size when you receive it unless their size chart is really off in which usually doesn’t happen.

I can’t wait to Black Friday shop on PrettyLittleThing.us. I’ve been shopping on the site for over a year now and I love all the cute outfits they have at such affordable prices. They’re always on trend but I can stick to my budget rule of not paying outrageous prices for on trend items. Which is important because this mama likes to save money, lol.

I’ve put together this post to bring you some cute outfits you need to grab between now and Black Friday. PrettyLittleThing always has awesome sales and discount codes and Black Friday is no exception. I’ll definitely be on the site grabbing all the things, lol. But make sure you get on there early because all the cute things sell out quick (at least everything I want in my size) *insert cry face emoji* lol.

This first outfit is so cute and so me because it’s got 2 of my favorite things, comfort and camo in the mix, lol. This Shape Camo Joggers and Sweater set is so comfy and cute. You can style the crop top with a cami or bodysuit if you don’t want tummy out. This set also comes in 2 other colors.

I love this AURIEL BURGUNDY KNITTED JOGGER JUMPER loungewear set. It’s so comfy, like wearing a sweater all over your body. It’s perfect for fall because it’s not super thick but not too thin either. The pullover can be worn off the shoulder and I sized up for a more oversized fit.

I got this BASIC V NECK T SHIRT DRESS in 2 colors because I thought it was so cute. I feel like it’s more flattering on my shape when I wear it with a knot either on the side or in front. It adds a nice silhouette to my body. It can be worn like a deep v or off the shoulder. I paired it with a jean jacket because it’s a dress that can be transitioned into fall and a jean jacket is good for places that don’t get cold at all but a little cool. Because the jacket can still be worn inside stores or restaurants (at least I do because I’m always cold, lol.) But the dress can be worn alone with light accessories or dressed up for a night out. I love versatile clothing pieces and these dresses definitely are.

This cute PRETTYLITTLETHING BLACK T SHIRT DRESS I had to have because it’s cute but casual. It can be worn all year round for me (I live in Florida) or anyone else that has warm weather for a majority of the year. A T-shirt Dress is something every girl needs to have in her wardrobe because it’s effortless casual cute. It has the relaxed casual comfort of a basic t-shirt and the length and style of a dress. Just add some cute accessories like a layered necklace, baseball hat and sneakers and you instantly look effortlessly cute and put together.

How To: Style Leggings for Fall

Leggings are great. They can be worn year round, they come in many different styles, patterns and fabrics now. So if you have that favorite comfortable pair of leggings but you don’t want to look like you’ve just grabbed them off the floor from the night before and ran out the door to drop the kids off to school. (yes I’m speaking from experience. No shame in my mom game, lol.) Then this post should help give you a few styled ideas to take your leggings from casual to dressed up in no time.

I wanted to style some basic leggings 3 ways since Fall is in full effect. Sweaters are all the rage and are the perfect option to put on when there’s a chill in the air. You can layer them over a top or find a sweater that’s great to throw on alone. Add some cute mules or boots, a few accessories and you’re good to go.

I’ve linked some cute sweater and legging options for every budget so that you can get to styling those leggings and show the world your style.

How To: Holiday Pants

Black Ribbed Lingerie Bodysuit
Mid-Rise Pixie Ankle Pants for Women in Tobacco Leaf
Mid-Rise Pixie Jacquard Ankle Pants for Women in Houndstooth
Women’s Anotoinette Woven Tassle Pointed Mules – A New Day™ Black

The holidays are around the corner and sometimes I still want to be comfortable while looking great. So sometimes dress pants are a great option to get out of wearing a dress. I love a good dress pant, especially when it has a beautiful design to it. These Gold Foil Pixie Pants from Old Navy are one of my favorite pants I bought during one of the holiday sales Old Navy had last year.

These pants are currently sold out but I paired these with a basic black bodysuit from Forever 21 and Targets Anotoinette Woven Tassle Pointed Mules. The beautiful gold design of the pants and the tassels and gold detail on the mules adds instant dressy touches to the outfit and makes it perfect for cocktails or a holiday party.

I’ve linked a few other pixie pants options since mine are currently sold out.

FIT TIPS:
-Pants are TTS and have good stretch. I’m wearing a size 2 Regular.
-Sweater runs TTS. I’m wearing a size Medium.
-Mules run TTS but I’m wearing a size 10 because there were no size 9.5 left.

Sizing reference:

Plaid Patchwork Top

PLAID PATCHWORK TOP
TALL POWERSTRETCH ST. CLAIR FLARE JEANS

Long Sleeve Shirt Plaid Affair

First of all I love Fall! With this top I get all the fall feels, especially in anything plaid. There is nothing I love more and I try and wear it year round honestly, lol. It’s one of my favorite prints. Thank goodness plaid is still a trend this fall too!

So when I got this adorable grey plaid patchwork top in the mail from Blooming Jelly, I couldn’t wait to shoot in it. It’s not too thick and not too thin. It can be worn with or without a jacket and has the perfect thickness for layering with a jacket or cardigan. If you aren’t sold on it yet then the UNDER $20 price tag should do the trick! ;0)

My jeans are from Alloy Apparel and are the best. Most noteworthy is that they fit so well and best of all they come in tall length too. I’m wearing a size 7 and the 37” inseam length. They are also low rise and the denim isn’t restricting and has a good amount of stretch to them. So I definitely recommend grabbing a pair because they’re under $70 and so good.

FIT TIPS:
-Jeans are TTS but have a little stretch if you get a size that’s a size smaller. I’m wearing a size 7 and 37” inseam.
-Top runs TTS. I’m wearing a size Large for a more loose and oversized fit.

Sizing Reference:
I’m 5’8″. Typically wear 9-9.5 in shoes and a size 10 if they run small. M/L in tops and dresses. 6-8 in Jeans depending on make and brand.

So what are your favorite prints of the season? What print do you go for most while shopping? I’m also loving leopard and camo print. Let me know in the comments below.

How To: Dress Up Leggings

I love leggings! Athleisure is one of my favorite clothing styles and I’m so glad it’s style is still going strong. But sometimes you need to dress things up but have no time to change into a whole new outfit. So I put together an outfit styled with basic Jersey Leggings from Old Navy to show how everyday leggings can be worn out for drinks or a casual date night.

I paired these Old Navy Jersey Leggings for Women with a black long sleeve cowl neck sweater (link) and Black Women’s Karoline Backless Loafer Mules – A New Day. The sleekness of the sweater and the silver studded detail on the mules add dressier touches to the leggings and make what would normally be a very casual outfit fit for an evening out after running errands during the day.

I’ve linked a few other sweater and legging options because my sweater is currently sold out.

FIT TIPS:

-Mules run TTS but I’m wearing a size 10 because there were no size 9.5 left.

I Love Being in my #UnderWhere

I love comfort. Anyone who knows me knows I like to dress up but what I love even more is dressing down, lol. Find me a comfortable pair of cute sweats or joggers and I’m all set. I also don’t have to spend an arm and a leg to find a cute and equally comfortable set. Which is why I will run straight to Walmart and go for the Fruit of the Loom sets. I love their zip up jackets and drawstring waist joggers. They’re in the mens section which I also love because I like for my jogger sets to fit a little loose rather than clinging to my body. The best part is they’re so affordable. You really can’t go wrong with these sets. Especially if you’ve been eyeing those cute sets in the mall for double and triple the price.

These sets are under $25 for the jacket and joggers together, they’re a great material as well. Thick enough to keep you warm and cozy but thin enough when the weather is a little warmer than expected. Walmart has really been stepping up their clothing game and these jogger sets are no exception. Run and grab some sets while you can, they come in over 4 colors but they sell out quick.

O U T F I T – D E T A I L S:
Fruit of the Loom Men’s Dual Defense EverSoft Fleece Full Zip Hooded Sweatshirt
Fruit of the Loom Men’s Dual Defense EverSoft Jogger Sweatpants
Women’s Any Day V-Neck Short Sleeve T-Shirt – A New Day™

FIT TIPS:
-Sneakers can run a bit small. I’m wearing a 9 but I would have sized up to a 9.5 or 10.
-Jogger Sets run TTS. I’m wearing a size Small in the joggers and zip up hoodie.

I hope this post was helpful in finding you a cute and affordable jogger set that won’t break the bank but you still look super cute like you just left the mall. If you download the 21 Buttons app and then find me @lolanicoleblogs I posted this suit with a direct shop link and then I tagged a few other options as well.

September Instagram Recap

It’s October already babes! One of my most favorite holiday months. Halloween is legit my fav, lol. Anyway I’m going to be putting together so many Fall and Winter transitional outfits this month so keep an eye out for those. I’m back today to round up all of my September IG Posts (link Instagram) for y’all to make it easier to find and shop everything in one place. I know I say this every Recap but it’s important so I’ll say it again, this will help if you happen to miss when something is posted you can find it all here for the previous month. I also have continued to do more Insta try on hauls since y’all voted for more of those and I always add them in the try on highlights on my Instagram (link insta). So if you ever have questions about an outfit or something in a picture I post you can check there or just head back to my blog on the 1st Friday of every month to get a recap. As I have already said Instagram (link insta) changed the algorithm. They make your feed based on exactly what they “think” you want to see by who and what you engage with. So please remember to keep engaging with my photos (likes and comments) and watch my stories so my posts keep showing up in your feed. ;0)

In September I’ve been settling into the preset I made and I love it. You may have noticed a subtle can’t quite put your finger on it change and that was it, lol. I also have been getting the hang of planning and using my planners more as well as starting some new books I made a blog post about last month as well. There was also a pretty awesome giveaway posted on my Instagram last month so if you aren’t already following me head over to my Instagram (link) and hit that blue button so you don’t miss out on the next one coming up.

6 Ways To Be Stylish On A Budget

In honor of my very first ever guest contributor post on Allwomenstalk.com I wanted to revamp my post I made for their site 8 Ways To Be Stylish On A Budget that I wrote in 2014. It’s been 4 years since that post and let me tell you some things have really changed. Fashion has definitely taken a turn and there are so many new styles, trends and fashion rules now. For me I follow one important rule which is BE YOURSELF. I know that sounds cliche but it’s so true. If you’re walking around in an outfit you saw online or saw a celebrity wearing but you don’t feel comfortable in it, it doesn’t matter how amazing the outfit looked on the person you saw it on first it’s not going to have the same look or feeling for you. Because it’s not your style. You want to find your style first and that will help you pick pieces you can mix and match and wear again and again and more importantly own that look and feel comfortable and KNOW you look good too.

So with that said I’m rounding up and sharing my top 6 tips to being stylish on a budget and a few of these tips are actually the same as in my first article because they’re so important and are still true to revamping your style every time:

1. Know YOUR body and Find YOUR Style

You want to find bloggers, celebs, people in magazines and even stylish people on the street that have your body shape and body type to model your style after. Wearing ill fitting clothing or patterns in a way thats not flattering for your body is the quickest way to make an outfit go from stylish to a hot mess so quick. Like me for example, I’m tall (5’8”) and most of my height is in my legs (37” inseam) so bermuda shorts are a no for me. They make my body look awkward, they usually squeeze my thighs and above my knee and I’m just uncomfortable in them all day and you can tell, lol. So I steer clear of them but I find ways around that because they are so cute when worn right. I get more of a mid-rise short with 5-7″ inseams instead (Old Navy has some great options) which is like a short length bermuda. They don’t come down as long as a regular length bermuda shorts would and they aren’t as form fitting on the legs but still give you that bermuda shorts feel. I also have a bubble butt that sits high so when I get pants sometimes they fit everywhere but the waist or everywhere but the legs. I tend to shop places that accommodate for tall women (Alloy.com or Asos.com have great tall options). So with that said, if you’re more bottom heavy or have long legs make sure you’re finding shorts, pants and jeans that aren’t cutting into your legs, butt and thighs or are too baggy and making your lower half look bigger in a bad way (we all want a nice looking bum but we have to do it right, lol.) If you’re more top heavy than find clothing like dresses and tops that fit your top half both comfortably and fits your shape the right way and that is the key. You don’t want buttons looking like they’re going to pop any second or a dress that’s cutting your body in a weird way that makes you look squatty or oddly shaped. Once you find clothing that fits you that’s when you’re able to just focus on picking pieces that you can interchange and wear different ways without having to worry about if the fit is right. Also taking your body measurements helps when shopping online because you can look at the sites size chart before choosing your sizing options which usually helps with eliminating getting things in the mail and having to send them back or take them into your local store to exchange it for something that fits right.

2. FIND THE SALES!

The best thing about online shopping and even when you’re shopping in the store is that there’s always a sale going on. Especially with highly trendworthy outfits and online boutiques. Things that are hot and in right now may very well be out in the next month or so. That’s the way the fashion industry works. So when getting on trend clothes you want to save your money here because they could be in today and out tomorrow and then you’re stuck with clothing that you spent so much money on but don’t want to wear anymore because it’s not in style. Whenever you find a new boutique or a new clothing site, take some time to google if there are coupons or if any bloggers have coupon codes for that specific site available. That way the on trend pieces you’re buying aren’t such a stressful investment when they could go out of style any minute. Also look and see if the company has their own coupons or sales. Old Navy, PRETTYLITTLETHING, FashionNova and many other clothing companies always have some sort of sale or coupons available so you’re always able to save some coin when you shop so you don’t feel so bad about your recent purchases. Save your money on the more big ticket, never going out of style pieces like a Louis Vuitton Speedy or a really nice Trenchcoat or those black pumps you’ve had your eye on from Christian Louboutin that you know will just gracefully age with time. This was an awesome way for me to always update my wardrobe without breaking the bank. Especially when I was in college and a single mom, every dime counts. ;0)

3. Buy, Sell and Trade

There are so many ways now that you can change up your wardrobe sometimes without even having to spend more money. Places like Platos Closet or a Thrift Store that buys old clothes you don’t want anymore can help you clean out your closet while getting new things right away. If you can wait a little I love selling things on Ebay.com because it’s so easy and quick. Take pictures of the clothes, post them on the site with a little description of outfit and condition, set your prices or your starting bid and sit back and watch the money roll in. That takes the pressure off of taking your clothes back and forth to different stores trying to sell everything off. For more expensive items you can use Poshmark, they are great for selling those name brand items that you don’t want to just give away or sell for $1. Hey like I said before, trends come and go so you always want to find cheaper ways of getting new things while not feeling so bad about letting go of the old.

4. DIY

DIYin is all the rage these days. You saw a cute off the shoulder graphic t-shirt a celeb was wearing but don’t want to spend the $100 price tag just go to Walmart or Five Below and grab you a few cheap band tees (both sell super cute graphic tees for $5) and watch a tutorial on how to cut a regular t-shirt into an off the shoulder shirt. It took me all of 10 mins to make a few off the shoulder tees I can wear to run errands or hang out or even around the house and still look cute for a fraction of the cost. Want some cute high waisted jean shorts but don’t have the money to get brand new ones right now? Look in your closet, a friends closet or your moms and get old jeans that you or they don’t want or even take a trip to the local Goodwill or thrift store in your area and grab some mom jeans that fit you well. Cut them into shorts, add some studs, distress them, etc and you’ve just saved $100+ on some on trend high-waisted shorts while spending all of $20 or less.

5. Borrow

Your sister, friend, mom or grandma will have something you’d love to wear. Whether it’s the beautiful vintage earrings, that designer bag you’ve had your eye on but can’t afford or that LBD you’ve had your eye on. Borrowing can help save tons of money and still have you looking fabulous without having to spend a dime. The best part is you can always wear it again so it’s like you bought it yourself, as long as you make sure that’s ok with who you borrowed it from, lol.

6. Mix and Match

My final tip is one i’ve said time and time again. Take something from one season and remix it to turn it into a fall or winter item with some layering. Turn that summer dress into a fall outfit by adding tights or leggings, add a scarf, a hat or a sweater. Turn those summer favorite high-waisted shorts into a fall outfit by tucking in a long sleeve flannel shirt, layering it with a cute cardigan and adding some fall essentials. Be creative, you don’t have to buy a whole new wardrobe for each season if you can’t afford it or even if you can. Save money by being creative with what you have. It’s what really shows your style and your ability to adapt to different seasons or trends without breaking the bank or maybe not even spending any money at all.

Jumpsuit Options (“Madison Jumpsuit” Shown is Sold Out)

I hope these top 6 tips help you with revamping your wardrobe or building a whole new one. We all love to shop, whether it be for new clothes or accessories. The best part is these tips can be used for pretty much anything. Whether you want to revamp your home with new furniture or a new look or you want to change up your decor. You can take these tips and apply them to home decor as well and still save money. I have a few tips on revamping your bedroom and your livingroom on my blog as well that I will link here Farmhouse Inspired Livingroom Revamp and here Master Bedroom Revamp so you can go check those out as well.

Sexy Summer Maxi Dress

This striped maxi dress is a little more amped up than your regular maxi dress. This one took me a little more to get used to just because I couldn’t wear a bra with it, you will have to wear nipple tape or some sort of backless and strapless bra. A sticky bra will probably be best if you need or want to wear a bra with this dress because there is major side boob, lol. I do love the fact that the dress is long. So wearing heels is a great option if you’re shorter because it will still run long. It’s flowy yet form fitted, has slits on both sides and has cute string detailing in the back. It’s great for a lunch date with friends or a date with bae. You can dress it down for daytime with sandals like I did and dress it up with heels and jewelry for nightlife.

I also love that you can wear this all summer long and then throw a leather or jean jacket on for fall weather so its versatile as well. With an under $20 price tag it’s no wonder this sells out quick. The stripes are a medium size and are Navy in color, perfect for that nautical feel and the fabric is a nice breathable, stretch material.

I’ve said before that I love Laura’s Boutique because they’re so affordable and also have sales or a coupon code quite often so you can save even more. I’ve ordered from them multiple times and I’m still never disappointed.

The Romper You Need This Summer

I’ve been loving striped clothing lately. Such a nautical and summery style. This off the shoulder romper gives such a cute and flirty style while still being casual enough for day to day errands. You’ll notice on my blog I go for not only functionality and comfort but how well my outfits work while wrangling kids all day, lol.

I’m always a little skeptical when ordering online or even buying rompers in-store because I don’t know how they will fit since I am tall. I’ve had some rompers that were literal underwear on me, lol. (So disappointing for us tall girls) but this romper fit so well I was surprised. It’s not too short in the bottoms so it covers my butt. I don’t feel uncomfortable or like everything is hanging out. The material has a little stretch but still fits nicely.

You can wear it with so many options, sneakers for a casual vide, sandals for a little more casual cute or heels for a night out. I’m currently on the hunt for the perfect black heel that goes with everything. But I paired this one with 2 sneaker options for a more casual feel.
