What’s in Lilli’s Diaper Bag (Newborn)

So it’s been a few years since I’ve had to pack an actual diaper bag.  It’s odd that even when you have more than one child it always feels a bit like the first time when you have to pack a diaper bag again lol. Preparing Lilli’s diaper bag made me realize just how much a newborn needs even for a trip to the store, lol. Here’s what I packed while trying to keep from packing her whole room, lmao.

The diaper bag I choose for Lilli is the Hello Kitty diaper bag from Walmart.

What’s in Lilliana’s Diaper Bag:

photo 3

2 Burp cloths
Swaddle blanket
Nursing cover
2 onesies
2 bibs
Going home outfit (hospital)
6 Diapers
Wipes
2 Bottles
2 Pacifiers
Headbands, socks, hand mittens
Travel First Aid Kit
Mommy hook
Changing pad (most bags come with one)
Grooming kit
Thermometer
Nose suction
Breasts pads, period pads (for myself for emergencies)

The zipper pouches you can get in the makeup or travel section of Walmart or Target. I find sorting things out in the pouches helps with mess and digging all through the bag looking for things.

I pretty much packed her diaper bag for when we actually go somewhere just because I know the hospital will provide everything we need while we are there. So this is really what I will be taking on a daily basis or when we go out.

I hope this is helpful for anyone who was confused on what to bring and it’s been so long, If I’ve left anything out please feel free to let me know, lol. What are you carrying in your baby’s diaper bag?

Wet n Wild Lip Swatches and Review

image

Hi loves, so I picked up a few Wet n Wild lip products the other week at Walgreens and thought I would share some swatches and my impression of them so far.

Wet n Wild Silk Finish Lipsticks
image
514A
Cherry Frost
545A
Blushing Bali
529B
Copper Dust
506B
Mink Brown
511B
Nouveau Pink
549A
Java

These lipstick go on pretty smooth. Most of them are a bit on the shimmery side for me but certain colors like the mink brown color don’t have any shimmer. You can also blend these with another color lipstick or concealer to tone down the shimmer color. They are more of a sheen finish and don’t dry matte at all so if you are a matte lover like me then these lipsticks would not be for you. But if you want to try something new, love shimmer or a shiny lipstick or one that looks great with lipgloss then you will love these.

The lasting power of these isn’t amazing and they do transfer some but for an .89 to .99 cent lipstick it does the job and is actually pretty pigmented as well. I would give these a 4 out of 10 in the all around category. Just because for me I don’t love shimmer and the lasting power is all i would want in a lipstick. But they are great for the price.

Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick and Megalast Liquid Lip Color Swatches

931A
High-Pitched Wine
924A
Click On My HyperPink
926A
Pink Perfection
902C
Bare It All
906D
Wine Room
914C
Mocha-licious

These lipsticks and lip colors are actually wonderful for the price. They have lasting power and are soooooo pigmented. The liquid lip colors literally took me forever to wipe these swatches off my arm after they set EVEN though I was using a makeup wipe. Especially the Click on My Hyperpink. Its pigmentation and lasting power is amazing. These are more creamy when you put them on and they dry matte for the most part. The lipsticks are semi matte finish which is nice because its not so drying to the lips.

I have loved these lipsticks for awhile though and I think Wet n Wild did a great job on these lip products. They range about $2-$4 depending on where you buy them and I just love them so much. Bare it all is my absolute favorite nude color from them right now and I would give these lippies a 8 out of 10. I would give them a higher score since I love them so much but I feel the packaging on the lipsticks could be better and less cheap. They have broken in my purse, tops have come off and my lipstick has broken more than once and they weren’t even in the sun. But nevertheless for a $3 lipstick they are just great.

So I hope you loves enjoyed this review. I hope it was helpful for you and that you will go out and buy some and try them for yourself. Everyone is different so you might love them way more then I do or hate them. But you never know until you try them out. Right now if you get them from walgreens they are having great BOGO sales as well as points redemption so go shop ladies. Hope your having an awesome holiday weekend.

How I Got Blonde Hair

image

So first off let me start by saying that this is NOT a tutorial, yes I’ve gone to hair school, no I’m not finished yet so I am in no way a professional. This is how I myself got to blonde. My best friend is a professional licensed hair stylist and she gave me tips and things to do also but ultimately I did my research and then did my own hair.

My hair was relaxed for years until I got older and realized that I didn’t need relaxers at all and my hair type was perfectly fine without it and it was just damaging my hair. I also love my natural curl pattern. (Mixed girls FTW, lol). So I stopped putting them in my hair and waited about a month and a half before I started my lightening process.

It took me about 8 months total to get to the blonde I’m at now. I am almost as light as I want but not quite there yet. I have maybe 2 or 3 more tones to go before I’m as light as I’d like to be. Maybe. Who knows we will see lol. Anyway here are the products I used to get to the reddish brown color I started off the lightening process with:

image
(Image from Google)
L’oreal Hi-Lift Brown in Downtown Brown
I lost the picture I took but this is the exact box.

Which got me here

photo 1

Then about 3 weeks later I used

image_3
L’oreal Excellence Creme in B2 Extreme Light Beige Blonde

Which started stripping all the darker tones out of my hair and left me with a ginger red.

image_4

Then I let another month or so pass by and I used the L’oreal Hi-Lift in Downtown Brown again and it pretty much at that point was about as light as it was going to be without the help of bleach. By that time I had shaved the sides of my head, cut my hair and gotten extensions to give my actual hair a break from heat styling, etc. to let it grow a bit.

photo 2

By the time I started the bleaching process it had been about 6 or 7 months since I had permed my hair. With all the cutting and shaving and trimming pretty much all except for the tips of my hair had relaxer in it. So then I was ready to venture into bleach. My first bleach I used these products from Sally’s:

photo-7

photo 5

2 packets of L’oreal Quick blue or you can buy the quick blue bucket so you have bleach to maintain your roots once your blonde.
30 Vol Salon Care developer
Wella t14 ash blonde
20 vol Salon Care developer-$4.99 1/2 gallon (sale)
Mixing bowl
Brush
Measuring cup
Reusable Black Gloves

I have a Sally’s Beauty Club card so its a tad cheaper if you sign up for one of those or if you have the professional card it’s even cheaper. Anyway I mixed the bleach and developer together and it looked like this:

photo 2

I applied starting from about 1 inch from my roots to ends. I did that for my whole head and then left it on for about 10 minutes and then I applied the rest to my roots, put a cap on my head and left it on for about 30 minutes. (Had bleach on my head for a total of 40 minutes). I used my iPhone timer to be accurate and I started timing once I was done with each application. I used 2 packs of the quick blue which is why I recommend getting a bucket of bleach if you aren’t sure or if you just want to have it for eveytime you bleach.

photo 2

The first bleach application after rinsing all the bleach out my hair looked like this (this was the first packet of bleach before I realized that I needed more):

image

This is after the second packet covering everything I couldn’t with the first packet:

photo 1

Then I took my Wella toner and mixed it with the 20 volume developer and applied that to my hair and let it sit for about 10-15 minutes. It says 20 minutes on the bottle but I do a little less because I feel like it’s to much for my hair.

After toning and conditioning again and blow drying my hair. The ends of my hair were extremely white but they were also the pieces that still had relaxer in them so they just broke off. Which wasn’t a huge deal because they were such short little pieces it wasn’t enough for anyone to notice, it just looked like I had trimmed my ends. This was the end result for my first bleach application.

image

I waited about 2 almost 3 weeks and then I bleached my roots and a few areas that were resistant to the bleach the first time. (You don’t want to over process your hair by re-bleaching hair that is already really blonde.) But this time I used Kaleidocolors Blue instead of Quick Blue. Which I actually liked better than Quick Blue. It’s a lot more blue in the bowl than QB also.

photo 4
photo 3

This is what it looked like after bleaching, conditioning, toning, conditioning and blow drying. So it took me about 8 months all together to get to the color I currently am now. I bleach and touch up my roots about every 3 weeks and the current shampoo and conditioner I’m using helps with brightening my blonde and keeping my hair looking nice.

image_1

I deep condition my hair about once a week and shampoo and condition my hair once a week to keep it as healthy as possible and clean. I use oil treatments as well both on my wet and dry hair so that my hair can stay strong through all the damage I’m putting it through with the bleach.

So overall ladies this is what I went through to get my hair platinum blonde. I did the slow process because I didn’t want to damage the crap out of my hair to where it was just falling out of my head. I also wanted my hair to be completely perm free for the most part so my hair was completely natural. I suggest for those who have over processed or permed hair to also take the slow lightening route just to save your hair some damage and it helps you get use to having lighter hair gradually rather than it just being one big color changing shock.

Remember that blonde hair is more work to upkeep just like having red hair so make sure it’s something your looking to commit to doing or you’ll be going back darker in no time lol. I will have a video up of my bleaching experience this weekend possibly event tonight if YouTube agrees with me lol about everything I went through and all and possibly even some things that didn’t get covered in my blog post.

Well that’s all for now. Hope you all are having a beautiful Friday even though it’s raining where I am. Any questions don’t hesitate to comment and ask.

Extreme Couponing and My biggest Fear

image

So I watch the show extreme couponers. I also see the huge stashes these people have and I think, “Good Lord I don’t think I need 28 boxes of pasta noodles and 48 tubes of toothpaste, but she got it all for only 48 cents so I guess it’s worth it right? Lol.

Well after my extreme fear of becoming a hoarder or worse getting to the register and trying to use my coupons and they not work or my calculations are off by crazy amounts so I have a cart full of that toothpaste and those noodle boxes with a $200 total to pay, I decided to see how some other moms were saving big bucks on the items that they needed and some even donating or bartering items they didn’t need for things that they wanted.

As a makeup artist and extreme enthusiast of the beauty community in general I have since gained a lot of beauty products. Whether it be makeup, hair accessories and tools, etc. With that came a heafty price tag and I eventually had to slow down. I’m not some popular guru getting things sent to me for free all the time so I can’t just run out spending hundreds a month on things that half of I still have yet to even use or try.

Well I have seen some makeup lovers like myself getting all the makeup and hair accessories, etc for extremely cheap and sometimes free with the help of couponing. So there struck my interest in actually trying couponing since I could use it toward something I loved. Making both myself and my husband and our wallets happy (mainly his, lol). Especially now since we are trying to save to buy a house in the next 2 years. Money is important and with the economy in the toilet Lord knows we need to be saving. So here I am starting on my couponing journey.

image

As you can see I got right down to it. Clipping and sorting away for 3 hours. Only to end up going to the store and using not 1 of my coupons because none of them were either what I needed or what the store I was in would use. So I got home and realized there is so much more to the art of couponing. So I need to continue my research. It’s clearly not something you can just jump right into. But I will continue to update on my couponing progress and what I’ve bought and saved. It’s clearly harder than I thought lol.

Until next time,

Florida Winter Weather

image

So I live in Florida. Yeah I know, lol. We don’t get a real winter. We get the it might be chilly, it will probably rain sometime during the day, oh and it might get hot mid day but Merry Christmas Lmao.

image

So we get to wear things like shorts and sweaters cause were so confused sometimes we just prepare for everything or at least I do. HA!

image

But I love this Cowlneck Sweater from Macy’s. The color is awesome and it’s soft and comfy. I like it because I’m not a huge turtleneck kinda girl (I feel like I’m being suffocated and not in the good way :0/)

image

The color matched perfectly with my boots from Traffic Shoes and Wrap Sweater from Billabong. A tan match made in heaven lol.

I hope your winter is going great. Do you have any weird weather issues where you live?

Fixie Girl

image

I love my fixie. Since I’ve gotten it I ride it everyday. So when I found the company Gear Fixie it was a given that I would buy a shirt lol. They are affordable and comfortable shirts.

image

This Fixie shoot was fun. Just a little mini shoot to show off the new shirt and my bike with the new rim color on it.

image

My bike was a gift and was built by Tour Vintage. I love it. It’s tailored for me and my comfort zone. I can feel myself building strength when I ride it. I love the colors, the design, just everything about it. I highly suggest buying one of your own. They are amazing.
