My Current Skincare Routine and I Finally Tried Ice Rolling! What is it for?

While face rolling is a beauty trend that’s been the talk of the beauty community for awhile now. You have the Rose Quartz and Jade rollers as well. I do have a Jade roller but I just got it so I will update on my thoughts once I’ve used it for awhile. I just started getting into face rolling and I can’t believe it took me so long. My skincare routine is pretty simple. I don’t do a lot because my skin can be so finicky with what it likes put on it. I can break out in a second if my skin isn’t loving what I use. So I’ve been trying out this Day and Night Cream by a brand called Lawrens and also using Garnier along with their Rose Water spray and another Rose water spray by. I love all of them so far and use them in rotation. But I’ve been using my Lawrens face creams more and my skin hasn’t been breaking out lately (unless it’s that time of the month) which is awesome. My first go at face rolling was with The Ice Roller. Once I ordered mine from Amazon I posted a picture on my Snapchat @lolanicolemua, and I got some questions like “What is that thing for?” Or when I put it in the freezer and my husband says “What’s this metal roll in the freezer?” Lol. Well, it’s actually easy and pretty cool. Plus it has many benefits like reducing varicose veins, smoothing out wrinkles, strengthening collagen fibers, tightening your pores and it makes your face look more lifted and rested just to name a few things. I’ve heard it’s great for sunburn and skin reactions as well to help combat puffiness and swelling or the stinging you get from your sunburn. I use it when my face gets too much sun because my face will feel hot, itchy and starts to peel pretty quick.

ESARORA Stainless Steel Ice Roller for Face & Eye

The best thing is that IT’S ONLY $11!! Which is a lot less than the other face rollers I’m looking into trying, so this is great if you want to dabble in face rolling but don’t wanna make the financial commitment to a more expensive roller.

First things first, yes it does squeak. But it doesn’t really bother me that much because I’m not spending hours rolling my face, lol. Idk if oiling it will help that but i’ve never tried because like I said it doesn’t really bother me much. I’m actually really loving the Ice Roller. It’s so cooling and refreshing and something I do when I’m trying to prepare my face for makeup or trying to unwind from my day. I will use it after I’ve washed my face and spritzed my skin with some rose water. I take it out of the freezer and roll my face while my rose water sets in my skin. I LOVE using it after my skincare routine because the cooling effect especially when taken directly out of the freezer helps close up and shrink your pores which is great before applying makeup to help conceal and control your pores. I STILL am just as obsessed with my ice roller as I was when I first got it and I still recommend it. It’s a GREAT addition to your skin care routine.

The benefits are endless I’m realizing and I’m still learning about the things my Ice roller can help with as far as my skincare goes. I will be doing a post soon on more skin care tips and face rolling as I try new things but this is the first on my list of skin care additions.

My Current Skincare Routine

Hi loves! So I've been exploring some new face oils, masks and cleansers. These are the ones that I have been loving the most so far. I rotate some of them for morning and night but I use my face oils both day and night for moisture and it also helps with my foundation as well because I notice I am less oily throughout the day when my face is more hydrated and moisturized. My skin is combination/oily with lots of oiliness in the t-zone area so don't be afraid to use oils on the skin because you're oily. It just lets your skin know that it doesn't need to produce as much because you're already moisturized.

My Olay Regenerist Advanced Anti-Aging Regenerating Cream Cleanser (mouth full, lol) face wash is what I use once or twice a week. Mainly when I don't wear makeup that day. Because I feel I get a nice deep exfoliating clean and it helps keep my skin clear of debris and the daily sun and weather exposure. It has a nice fresh scent which is still not chemically strong which I love. It's an exfoliating face wash but gentle on the skin and doesn't leave my face feeling raw or itchy just clean and refreshed.

These new L'Oréal face washes and masks have been amazing. I'm going to get the rest of them because I want to try them all out now. The two I've been using about 2 to 3 times a week are the charcoal and mattifying masks. You can feel the mattifying mask tightening on your skin as it dries. Really working to minimize those pores and mattify the skin. The charcoal mask works to brighten and detox the skin so it is a little less restricting as it dries. I love the pure clay cleanser. It's an exfoliating and refining mask. I have the 3 pure clay and red algae mask and I love it. It's not too rough on the skin so I am able to use it every day. I love the fact that these masks and cleansers have an earthy smell to them. That way it feels like you're actually cleansing and doing your skin some good rather than just rubbing chemicals into it.

I use Vanity Planet Spin for Perfect Skin brush with both face cleansers but sometimes I will just use my hands if I don't want too deep of a cleanse so to not irritate my skin when I've just waxed it or done another deep treatment. But I've been using this brush for almost 2 years now and I love it. I even bought my daughter one. It has a body brush for body exfoliation, a face brush, an exfoliating face brush and a pumice brush for more rough areas like elbows, knees and feet. It's an amazing brush that is so much more affordable than some other face brushes that can run you well into the $100-$400 range. I believe I had a coupon and only paid $20 plus shipping for mine. 🤗

My face exfoliating gel from European Wax Center is another favorite. I like to use this twice a week especially when I've been wearing a full face of makeup multiple times during the week. I just wash my face, dab it dry and then apply the gel and rub my hands in circular motions until I feel all the dead skin start to come off. Once I've done my whole face I go over it lightly with my spin for Perfect skin brush and rinse. My skin feels so smooth and clean after and I notice my makeup application is a lot smoother as well. It also has a nice scent which by now you should know I don't like over powering chemical smells. Especially if it's supposed to be a facial cleanser or mask for my face.

Once I'm done cleansing my face and I've done my mask, I will apply my facial moisturizers and oils. During the day I apply a light application of everything so it has time to soak into the skin and then I can apply my makeup and at night I like to use a more healthy application of product so my skin is relaxed and hydrated during the night. I first apply the Puretem moisturizer and then some of the Caudalie moisturizing sorbet. I use about 4 drops of Julep Rose Hip oil that I received in my voxbox and then I apply Vitamin E oil on top. I've noticed that my skin is much softer and more radiant now rather than waking up with a dull, dry appearance to the skin.

I apply pure castor oil to my eyebrows and lashes at night to help with growth. I've been using this for about 3 months and I've noticed some change in my brow and lash growth it's just a slow process with this method.

Towel pictured is Aquis Hair Towel (influenster sent it to me in a posh voxbox for testing purposes and I love it)

Overall I definitely recommend trying these products. They have all worked together to make my skin look more radiant and fresh. I haven't had any breakouts either since switching to this face routine. Check out these new face goodies. The L'Oréal, Olay, vitamin E and Castor oil I purchased all of those from Walmart. I hope if you try them you love them just as much as I do.

L'Oréal Pure Clay Cleanser $6
L'Oréal Pure Clay Masks $10 each
Olay Regenerist Advanced Anti-Aging Regenerating Cream Cleanser $10

Review: AcneFree Advanced Cleansing Brush

image-9

I was looking for a cleansing brush that didn’t cost an arm and a leg. I have seen the Clarisonic all over the place with the popular bloggers and all over youtube but I just was not trying to spend $200 for a face brush. That just seems crazy to me lol.

So I was in Target looking for some new face wash and something to help with the acne I started to develop once I got pregnant. I came across the AcneFree Advanced Cleansing Brush and happened to have a coupon as well as it being on sale so I only paid about $14 for it. I thought it would be a great alternative to the pricier brushes and would help me figure out if I even liked using a face brush.

So I went home and got online and started looking up the brush and seeing others reviews on it before I tried it out. To my surprise a lot of people were comparing it to the CLarisonic and the Olay cleansing brushes. Which was funny because I hadn’t heard of any other brush besides the Clarisonic (one of the most expensive ones) go figure lol.

It’s actually the perfect size for everyday and travel because its the size of your hand and it will fit in a small travel bag. It’s great for carry on bags as well. I’m not sure what size the others are but I can’t imagine they would be that much bigger. At least I hope not, lmao.

So I started using the brush and honestly you never really realize how dirty your face is until you have scrubbed it clean with a spinning brush lol. Before I started using the brush I was just using my Neutrogena Makeup Remover Face Wipes, my Clearasil Fast Fix Acne Kit and at least once a week a cleansing mask. But still my face was dirty even after all that. The brush really deep cleans your face and gets all the dirt and oil out of your pores.

All in all the brush has really helped my skin. Within 2 weeks my acne was really clearing up and my face was looking brighter and feeling a lot better and less heavy (if that makes sense, lol). You can see what your makeup wipes and just washing your face leaves behind when you use the brush and at first I thought I just didn’t wash my face well that night but no morning or night your face is dirty whether you wore makeup or not and even if you didn’t go out that day at all.

Over all I give this cleansing brush a 10/10 for me. It cleanses great and my skin has really gotten a lot better since using it for the last 3 months. You should definitely give it a try before buying one of those really expensive brushes just because others are getting it and raving about how awesome it is. Because honestly spending more doesn’t always mean your getting the best bang for your buck.

So thats my review of the AcneFree Advanced Cleansing Brush. Stop by a Target or a store near you and grab one to try. You’ll be glad you did.
